An Overview of Webinar Software Providers

The popularity of virtual and hybrid events is higher than ever before, and organizers of those events need to get familiar with how to organize those formats. One of the biggest challenges is the set-up of webinar sessions. Even though they are one of the central elements in the events agendas, confusion about how they are set-up persists. Additionally, the market is huge and it can be a daunting task to dive into the research of a provider. So, this article sheds light on the landscape of webinar-software providers, making it straightforward for you to choose one and save hours of research.

The Market Overview

We used ‘Gartner's 2019 Magic Quadrant for Meeting Solutions’ and their report to approach the topic. The report looked at 16 different software providers and compared them, to end up with a categorization into 4 segments - market leaders, challengers, niche players, and visionaries.

Throughout this article, we will solely focus on the market leaders and challengers of the report. First, because an entire overview of all the providers would be above the scope of this article and, secondly because we assume that most event organizers consider a well-established provider over a new-one.

In Figure 1, you can see that the segment market leaders consists of four providers, namely: Cisco (Webex Meetings), Zoom, Microsoft (Teams), LogMeIn (GoToWebinar).

In the segment challengers, you find the names of Google (Hangouts) and Adobe (Connect Webinars).

What you should consider

Any of the above-mentioned providers easily integrates with b2match. You can simply embed custom links (directing to the webinar-rooms) into the b2match agenda sessions.

The limiting factor is the number of participants you wish to grant access to your webinars. If you want to create webinars for +100 participants, you need to find an external webinar provider with the respective plan.

If the participant number per single webinar does not exceed 100 participants, you can benefit from the build-in solution, which you get with the purchase of b2match.

How to create this type of agenda sessions, and how to embed your custom links or use our solution, you can read here
