Registration Settings

Registration Type: Private & Public

When creating an event, one of the first things to consider is the registration type. The registration type you should choose will depend on the nature of your event. You must decide whether you want to make your event open to the public, attracting as many participants as possible, or if you prefer a more exclusive gathering, open only to a selected few.

How can I configure the registration type?

First, click on Configuration on the left sidebar of the Organizer's tool.

Then, from the Participant section, click on Registration settings. This will open the Registration settings page

In the Public or Private Registration section, choose the preferred registration type for your event.

Simply click on the option you need and then click on Save in the bottom right corner.

The next thing you need to do is configure the registration time frame.

What is public registration?

If you choose public registration, your event will be open to the public, and anyone interested can freely register for it. With this option, potential participants can easily register for your event directly from the event website by clicking on the Register buttons.

Tip: If you don't need the event to be exclusive and you aim to attract more people, choose public registration.

What is private registration?

Private registration allows you to host a more exclusive event, where you have control over who can participate. Participants cannot register for the event through the event website using the usual Register buttons

Instead, you need to personally invite participants to register for the event. There are two ways to invite participants.

Inviting participants via import

You can import participants from a previous event or an Excel document. The system will generate a unique invitation link for each participant, which can only be used once. After importing, you need to send out event invitations.

Inviting Participants via Invitation Links in Participation Types

You can invite participants to your event by using the automatically generated invitation links connected with participation types. When you send out the link associated with a specific participant type, anyone who registers using that link will be automatically assigned to that specific participant type.

Inviting Participants via Invitation Links on Tickets

If ticketing is enabled for your event, tickets will define the participation types of the registered attendees. When ticketing is active, invitation links will be moved to the Ticket Info sidebar of the corresponding ticket. Sending out the link associated with a specific ticket will automatically assign anyone who registers using that link to the participant type defined by the ticket.

Once registered, participants can access the event through the login button available on the event website.
