Understanding Organization Types

In the dynamic landscape of events, organizations often set themselves diverse goals and objectives. To effectively manage and optimize organizations engagement at your event, it becomes crucial to categorize and unite organizations with similar goals. This is where organization types come in handy.

In this article, we will explore the concept of organization types, their benefits, and how they contribute to streamlining event management.

What are organization types?

Organization types serve as a valuable tool for categorizing organizations that are represented at your event.

They serve as a filter in the organizations list on the event website to help participants find potential business partners.

Examples of typical organization types

Organizations participating in specific events can be categorized into various types depending on their focus. Here are some examples of organization types commonly found in different event categories.

  • Buyer/Seller events: manufacturer, distributor, retailer, wholesaler, supplier, consulting, and other.
  • Investor/Start-Ups events: start-up, company, university, investor, business angel, finance, government/authority, association/agency, consulting, and others.
  • Maritime events: ship builder, port operator, component supplier, service supplier, association, government/authority, consulting, research, and other.
  • Food events: producer, distributor, wholesaler, retailer, service supplier, consulting, and other.

Once you have determined the organization types that align with your event's needs, it's crucial to set them up accordingly. After setting up the organization types, you can manually assign them to specific organizations. However, should the need arise to delete an organization type, the process can be completed effortlessly with just a few clicks.
